Chilcote vs Highters Heath (Year 6 Boys' Football Team)

On Friday 12th October the Chilcote boys' football team played their second league fixture against Highters Heath Primary School at Yardley Wood playing fields.

The game started and Chilcote began the way they had finished the last match in imperious fashion. They scored and went 1v0 up within 45 seconds. They then carried on in this fashion for the whole of the first half scoring goals regularly and wracking up an 8v0 scoreline by half time.

In the second half Chilcote quickly added a 9th and 10th goal. This meant due to the ruling of school's football the game ended.

Despite the disparity between the two teams both sets of players kept their discipline and the game was played in the right spirit throughout.

The goalscorers were as follows:

James 2
Ben 3
Milan 2
Dylan 1
Euan 2

Well done to all of the boys involved as they did a thoroughly professional job!!!

Year 6 Cycling Tournament

On Thursday 11th October Chilcote entered the first ever Kings Heath School Sports Partnership Cycling tournament. The event took place at Kings Heath Boys School.

The children competed in teams of four on three different events. The events were all times and points were given out for certain times to give each team an overall score. These overall scores were combined to see which team had accrued the most points on the evening.

In total fifteen separate teams entered the event and competed. Chilcote entered three teams into the competition.

The children competed in a ride and run event where they had to cycle half a lap whilst a partner ran and then swap halfway to do the opposite. They did a slalom relay as a team and then a 4 x 2 lap relay of the cycling circuit.

All three teams performed very well and made good times. Particularly in the two lap relay race to finish.

The top three teams were as follows:
3 rd place - Yardley Wood
2 nd place - Chilcote B
1 st place - Chilcote A

Out of fifteen teams Chilcote finished in first and second position which is an amazing achievement!

Well done to all three teams, who all performed superbly well and represented the school excellently!!!

Chilcote Vs Hollywood (Y5 and 6 mixed netball team)

On Monday 8th October the Chilcote mixed netball team had their second league fixture against Hollywood Primary School. The game took place at Chilcote on the school playground.

The match started with Chilcote scoring almost immediately from their first centre. A great passing move culminating with Milan scoring. Chilcote continued to dominate the ball and therefore the chances. They scored another 5 goals before the end of the quarter to go in 6v0 up.

In the second quarter, Hollywood began to defend better but Chilcote were still playing some excellent netball. The most pleasing thing was how clinical Chilcote were with their chances. The quarter finished 5v1 to Chilcote so 11v1 overall.

In the third quarter, Chilcote score arguably their best goal of the night. They started by intercepting a pass in their own third before passing their way down the pitch with every player touching the ball before Eva scored some ten passes later! The quarter ended 4v0 and the overall score was 15v1.

In the final quarter, Hollywood had their best spell of the night and put together some nice moves of their own. They almost scored on a couple of occasions. Chilcote were not as clinical in this quarter and missed a few chances. The quarter ended 2v0 and the game ended 17v1.

A fantastic result for the team and a great performance. Well done to all of the players involved!!!

Yardley Wood Vs Chilcote (Y5 and 6 Mixed Netball)

On Thursday 4th October 2018 the Chilcote mixed netball team had their first fixture against Yardley Wood.

Chilcote took two teams and played an A and a B fixture against Yardley Wood’s A and B team.

Chilcote’s A team played very well and were clinical with the ball scoring lots of their chances. They took a commanding 6v0 lead at the half time stage. In the final two thirds they continued to dominate and scored some more chances. The game ended 11v1 to Chilcote.

The B team started well in their fixture too. They took an early lead and then continued to dominate. By the half way stage they were 4v0 up - a massive achievement considering this was the first game of netball for most of the team. In the final two quarters they continued to play well but a combination of poorer finishing and a better Yardley Wood performance stopped them from scoring any more goals. The game ended 4v0 to Chilcote.

Well done to all of the children involved as both teams performed really well!!!

Year 5 and 6 Girls' Team game against St Bernards

On Friday 28th September the Chilcote girls’ football team played against St Bernards in their first league game.

The first half started with game pretty even. Then St Bernards started began to get on top of the game. One of their girls was running the show and duly scored the first goal. Not long after, following more good play St Bernards doubled their lead.

Chilcote rallied in the second half and put on a very good defensive display. They didnt attack much but managed to contain the St Bernards attack for the rest of the game. The match finished 2v0 to St Bernards. It was a lovely game and a pleasure to watch.

Well done to all of the girls on a battling performance!!!

Year 5 and 6 Boys' Team game against St Bernards

On Friday 28th September the Chilcote boys’ football team played their first league game against St Bernards.

The game started in Chilcote’s favour and they created a fair few chances but couldnt take any of them. Then Dylan managed to grab a goal from a corner. Chilcote continued to be on top but didnt add to their lead before half time.

In the second half Chilcote played some of the best football that i have seen a Chilcote team play. They scored their second through a great finish from Ben and then he added his second and Chilcote’s third after a great team move. Then, not long before the end of the game Ryan added a fourth after another awesome passing move.

The game ended 4v0 to Chilcote and could have been more. Special mention has to be made to Ben who performed at a phenomenal level throughout the game!!!

Well done to all of the boys on a great first win and performance!!!

Year 5 and 6 Boys' 5-a-side Heats

On Thursday 27th September the Chilcote boys 5-a-side team played in the qualifying round of the South Birmingham 5-a-side competition.

They were joined on the night by teams from The Oaks, St Martins, Hall Green and St Bernards. Each team played each other once and the winner would go through to the finals of the competition.

Chilcote played against The Oaks in their first game and played really well they won the game 2v0 with goals from Ben and Dylan.

In their second game Chilcote played against Hall Green and totally dominated the game. Unfortunately, they didnt take all of their chances. They still managed to win the game 3v2 but it should have been a lot more comfortable. Ben scored a hat-trik.

Following that, Chilcote played against St Martins and it was a close game. Chilcote shaded it but were again wasteful. Fortunately, Dylan managed to grab a goal with not long left to win the game 1v0.

Finally, Chilcote played against St Bernards who were also unbeaten. It was a close game but Steven managed to put Chilcote 1v0 up halfway through. Chilcote then had to defend really well and did to hold on and win the game.

An excellent display by Chilcote on the night and they have qualified for the finals! Well done to all of the lads involved!
