Celebrating Chinese New year in Nursery

We have had an exciting day learning about Chinese New Year.   We have made Dragon masks and paper lanterns as well as a dragon's head!    In our PE lesson we used the dragon's head for a dragon dance.   It was great fun!

A very busy term in Nursery

The children in Nursery have now all settled well into our daily routines and are really enjoying the activities we undertake in our sessions.
The children have all worked very hard over the last few weeks and are happy and excited by any new experiences they can explore.
The children have shown us how creative and artistic they are.   They have developed friendships and are learning to play and learn with each other well.

Just a few of the happy times we have spent leaning during the Autumn Term.
We can't wait for more adventures in 2020!

Easter Bonnet parades in Early Years.

On Wednesday 5th April, ROak, RAsh and Nursery children arrived in school with amazing Easter bonnets that they had created with their families at home. They looked fantastic.

We all took part in Easter bonnet parades with the Nursery children and enjoyed showing off our marvellous headgear to our invited families and friends. We sang some songs and our teachers had the impossible task of choosing winners from all of the incredible Easter bonnets.

Thank you so much to all our families who helped us make our beautiful bonnets.

Lego Dinosaur morning in Reception

We had a lovely morning with Collette from `Create-Build-Learn`.
We named, then created lots of different types of individual dinosaurs. Next we worked in teams of 3 to make suitable habitats for our dinosaurs to live in. Our habitats needed to provide the correct conditions for life- the children had to think hard and plan a habitat which had water, plants, trees and somewhere for the dinosaurs to shelter.
All the children were very involved and worked enthusiastically in their groups. They were very creative and made and described some amazing models.
Thank you very much to Collette- we thoroughly enjoyed our morning and are very proud of our creations!
