Chilcote Summer concerts

On Monday 20th May and Tuesday 21st May, over 120 children performed at our two annual Summer concerts. Both were well attended by large enthusiastic audiences and all the children performed confidently, showcasing their hard work over the past few months to their family and friends.
We are very proud of all our performers and would like to thank them for their hard work and enthusiasm, providing us with two very enjoyable evenings.
Thank you very much to our talented peripataetic music service teachers who have taught and encouraged the children all year. Our children have made great progress, through the hard work of Mrs Mulenga, Mr Fisher, Miss Hobbs, Mr Chamberlain and Mr Singh.

Dhol drumming concert

On Tuesday 9th April, we enjoyed a performance from our Dhol drummers who played for their families and friends.

Led by Mr Singh, they all played confidently and showed great skill in playing a variety of different pieces.

It was lovely to see the progress that they have all made this year and to see their concentration and teamwork as they played complex pieces.

Thank you very much to all our super players, their families for attending and being such a supportive audience and especially to Mr Singh for all of his hard work and support this year.

David Gregory from the CBSO visits Chilcote

Today we were very lucky to welcome back an ex pupil, David Gregory who is now a violinist with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. He spoke to the children about his time at Chilcote and how it inspired him to become a violinist and go on to have a career as a musician.

He played to us and then played and improvised with various groups of our own musicians -some of our cellists and dhol drummers.
We finished with a big improvisation performed by many of our Year 4,5 and 6 pupils.
