On Friday 1st March the Chilcote boys’ football team played their first league game of the post Christmas league against Colmore school. As they won their pre Christmas league the boys qualified for division 1 (the top division in South Birmingham).
The first half started well for Chilcote and they had their first chance a couple of minutes in. They then had another great chance not long afterwards but just missed the target. Colmore then came into the game and had their best spell of the match without creating any clear cut chances. The first goal came when Dylan picked out Ben with a sublime pass and Ben dinked the keeper to score, 1v0 to Chilcote. Not long after Chilcote scored again, this time from a corner that was touched down before being slammed home by Steven. Colmore then scored a fantastic long range effort. This meant that the score was 2v1 to Chilcote at half time.
In the second half, Chilcote really stepped it up and completely took control of the match. Ben scored a great solo goal, steven scored a scruffy tap in whilst jostling with a defender after Ben had flicked the ball past the keeper and finally Ben slammed the ball home after some neat footwork. Chilcote had a few other chances and so did Colmore but no more goals were scored. The game ended 5v1 to Chilcote.
What a result and what a performance!!! The boys were immense - well done to all!
