On Tuesday 8th June eight Year 4 children
represented the school in a mixed cross country competition at The Oaks Primary
School. The children raced as a team doing one lap each in a boys’ race and a
girls’ race.
In the girls’ race Chilcote managed to finish first out of
six schools. They completed the laps in 1:42, 1:48, 1:41 and 1:32, which was a
total time of 6:43.
In the boys’ race Chilcote managed to finish in joint second
place only seconds behind the winners. They completed the laps in 1:34, 1:35,
1:39 and 1:26 (a new course record for a year 4 boy). This meant a total time
of 6:14.
The overall positions of the teams equated to points which
were added together. Chilcote finished level with Colmore School. This meant
that the teams had to be separated by their times. Chilcote won by a total of 4
seconds.
The children did exceptionally well and represented the
school brilliantly! Well done to all those involved!!!
