The visit was part of Year 1's entry point day to the topic of The Magic Toy Maker with a focus on Toys from the past. Despite lots of traffic on the motorways, Year 1 sat beautifully for over an hour on the bus and arrived at 10.15 am. 1 Elm and 1 Fir had 4 workshops throughout the day and a nice rest break for a yummy packed lunch.
The students enjoyed their fun workshops and learnt about toys from the past through play and made a pegdoll in a craft session. The students had a dance workshop were they learnt to dance like a clockwork toy and learnt about puppets through a Punch and Judy show. The show was very funny and their was giggles from staff and students alike!
The children showed excellent manners and were complimented by the museum staff for their thoughtful, creative and interesting answers.
