On Wednesday 20th September eight Year 4 children represented Chilcote at a mixed football competition. The competition took place at Kings Heath Boys School. There were five teams at the tournament and each team played each other once in a league format.
Chilcote started out with a game against Bells Farm who were a very good side. It was a tight game with Chilcote finding it hard to score, but with not long left on the clock James hit a curling effort that the keeper could only touch into her own net.
In their second game Chilcote played against Yardley Wood. They started really well and scored quite quickly. They then added a second and third goal to run out 3v0 winners.
In the third game Chilcote played against Hollywood. This was a tough match as Hollywood had won their first two games too. Chilcote took the lead with their first attack before adding a second not long afterwards. Not long before the end Hollywood got a goal with a long range shot. This made for a nervy finish. Chilcote held firm though and won 2v1.
Finally, Chilcote played against the Oaks. Chilcote played really well and managed to score 4 goals in the game. This meant that they won 4v0.
Therefore, Chilcote topped the league at the end of the night having won every game and only conceding 1 goal.
Well done to all of the children who were involved as they represented the school brilliantly and performed excellently!!!
