Year 5 and 6 Girls' 7-a-side Tournament

On Friday 29th September the Chilcote girls' football team took part in the South Birmingham 7-a-side competition at Yardley Wood playing fields. The girls were put into a small league with 3 other teams, who they played once each.

In their first game the girls played against St Bernards school in a very tough match. They found it hard to get out and attack and unfortunately lost the game 1v0.

In the second match of the tournament they played against St Ambrose Barlow and despite having more of the ball in this game they could not find a way past the opposition keeper. The match ended 0v0.

Finally, the girls played against Yardley Wood school. Yardley Wood had a few more chances and eventually they managed to find the back of the net. Chilcote did have a few chances of their own but din't manage to score. The game ended 1v0 to Yardley Wood.

This meant that the girls finished in third place in their group and did not qualify for the semi finals. All the girls did really well and represented the school superbly, well done girls!!!
