Chilcote Brass at a Music Service Chamber concert

On Thursday 13th February, Chilcote Brass group took part in an evening concert at St Francis Church, Bournville. It was a Chamber concert- for small instrumental or vocal groups.
Chilcote Brass played with confidence and expression and represented our school extremely well.
4 of the 9 brass group members were performing in their first concert outside of school, so a special well done to them.
One member of the group also played as part of another out of school group, well done for your commitment to your music and instruments.
Thank you very much to Mr Fisher who organised and prepared the children for this event and for our parents for making it possible for the children to attend.
The children also got to hear other instrumental groups play and showed fantastic audience manners throughout the concert.
Well done Brass group- we are very proud of you and your hard work.

Chilcote Summer concerts

On Monday 20th May and Tuesday 21st May, over 120 children performed at our two annual Summer concerts. Both were well attended by large enthusiastic audiences and all the children performed confidently, showcasing their hard work over the past few months to their family and friends.
We are very proud of all our performers and would like to thank them for their hard work and enthusiasm, providing us with two very enjoyable evenings.
Thank you very much to our talented peripataetic music service teachers who have taught and encouraged the children all year. Our children have made great progress, through the hard work of Mrs Mulenga, Mr Fisher, Miss Hobbs, Mr Chamberlain and Mr Singh.

Brass concert on Monday 3rd December 2018

Today families of  Chilcote brass players enjoyed a fantastic concert, showcasing the work and progress made by our brass players over this term. Everyone played confidently and clearly in their groups and our more experienced players played some great solos. We also enjoyed listening to the `Chilcote brass band`.
It was lovely to see the progression from our `new ` players who have only been playing since September up to our very experienced players of 2 or 3 years.
Well done to you all and to Mr Fisher who has taught you so enthusiastically since September.
Good luck to those who are taking exams this week- we are very proud of you. Thank you very much to the families who were able to attend - we really appreciate your support-and to Mr Fisher for his hard work.

I am waiting for one more `video` clip to be processed- I will publish it on the blog when I receive it.

Brass concert on Monday 2nd July

On Monday, Chilcote brass players performed in a concert for their families, playing pieces they have learned over the last term at school. They all played extremely well in their groups and some pupils also played solos confidently. Everyone also took part in playing 2 pieces as part of the `Chilcote brass band`.
It was lovely to see the good progress made by the pupils since the beginning of the year and to witness the teamwork in all of the group performances.
Well done to you all and to Mr Fisher who has taught and supported you so positively all year.
Congratulations too as many of you have taken and passed brass exams this academic year- we are very proud of you.
Thank you very much to all of our families for the support you give at home-and to Mr Fisher for his hard work this year.

Junior Choir and Chilcote Brass band performing at St Peter`s festival .

On Saturday 30th June, Junior choir and Chilcote Brass band took part in a fantastic concert as part of St Peter`s festival at St Peter`s church. The choir sang a variety of songs and our brass players performed solos and as a group. The church was completely full and the audience were very complimentary about how well our children had performed. We were very proud of you all as it was quite a challenge performing for such a large audience in a venue with tricky acoustics.
We also enjoyed listening to Birmingham schools` Concert Band and Birmingham schools` Brass Ensemble who performed to a very high standard.
Thank you to all our pupils- and families who supported this event on a Saturday afternoon during a very busy time of year.
