On Thursday 18th June ten year 6 children
represented the school in a mixed rounders competition. The tournament took
place at Kings Norton Girls School.
Chilcote started with a match against Yardley Wood. They
played really well and it was a very close game. Unfortunately, they lost by
half a rounder – 2 v 2 & ½.
In the second game Chilcote played against The Oaks. They
batted really well and scored a few full rounders. Chilcote won the game 4
& ½ v 1 & ½.
In game three Chilcote played against Hollywood. Again the
children batted superbly. However, the fielding in this game was not as good as
in the previous games and they gave away runs. Fortunately, the game ended 5 v
4 & ½ to Chilcote.
Finally, Chilcote played against Bells Farm. It was a good
close game, with nothing between the two teas. Chilcote’s bowling and fielding
gave away some half rounders, which meant that they lost the game 3 v 2.
With all of the results in, Chilcote finished in third place
in the tournament, having won 2 and lost 2. A great effort by everybody
involved. Well done all!!!
