On Wednesday 8th March three teams of children from Chilcote represented the school in a mixed tennis tournament. The tournament took place at Billesley Indoor Tennis Centre.
The nine teams were put into three groups of three. The winner of each group would go through to a final round-robin at the end. Each school played the teams in their group once. Matches were played as singles, with all four members of the team playing their match at the same time against their opponent.
Chilcote's yellow team won their two group games 4v0 to progress to the final round. The Chilcote light blue team also won their two games 4v0, so also progressed. The Chilcote dark blues lost and drew their two matches so just missed out on the final. They did play one more match, which they won to finish in 6th place overall.
In the final the 'yellows' and the 'light blues' were joined by Bells Farm. They all played each other and in the end the yellow team finished 1st and the light blue team finished 2nd.
A fantastic achievement by all of the children involved in the tournament, who all represented the school superbly well!!!
