St George's day in year 3

In year 3 this morning we had a special visit from Mr Singh from the Music Service. He came in to teach us all about  Dhol drumming. We learnt that the drum comes from The Punjab region in India.

We also learnt about the names of beaters. The big beater is called a Dugga, and the long one is called a Tilly. Mr Singh also told us some of the names for drum beats like the Geh and Nah.

We also had a go playing the drums, which was awesome, brilliant and fantastic fun. The teachers had a go too! J

In the afternoon we enjoyed watching the Morris dancing outside in the playground. We watched the dancing with the whole school. Check out the video.
